Dr. Sambhu Mitra, Mowah’s Head of Engineering and Technical Support Services, is a highly seasoned and accomplished engineer with over 38 years of technical leadership and operational experience in water and wastewater treatment, solid waste handling, thermal and RO Desalination projects, power plant systems, and renewable energy.
Dr. Mitra leads Mowah’s technical and business development teams in translating and formulating solutions to stakeholders’ complex engineering information and requirements to develop competitive and compliant techno-commercial proposals. For both new and existing projects, he provides expert guidance in the areas of risk mitigation, operational efficiencies, implementation of operational best practices, and environmental compliance.
Before joining Mowah, Dr. Mitra handled technical leadership positions as Director for RO Engineering in ACWA Power, Assistant Vice President in Doosan Water Design, and Water System Manager for Sembcorp Operations.
Dr. Mitra is a chartered engineer and a member of the relevant Chemical and Chemical Engineers’ societies in India, the USA, and the UK. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a triple Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Applied Chemistry, and Environmental Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK. Dr. Mitra has authored academic papers on desalination and water treatment which have been presented in renowned magazines and international conferences.
