Preliminary Bids Submitted For ISTP in Oman

The consortium led by Mowah has been prequalified as a developer for the Misfah Sewage Treatment Plant  (STP) Project tendered by  the Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company (OWWSC)  under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) structure.  In response to the requirements set in the Request for Proposal (RFP), the Mowah consortium successfully submitted its preliminary bid in March 2022.

The Misfah ISTP is  one of the several projects being implemented by the OWWSC to expand and provide wastewater treatment services to various governorates in Oman. Following this national objective, OWWSC intends to develop the Project, comprising of an STP and a treated effluent (TE) Line through a PPP framework.

The Misfah STP is being planned with an aim to shift the tanker traffic that currently discharges sewage at the Al Ansab STP away from the center of the city. The facility is envisaged to treat a daily average sewage flow of 40,000 m3/day. The plant is expected to predominantly treat sewage fed through tankers during the initial years, with some part of the sewage being supplied through sewage networks in later years. The proposed site is along the Ansab – Murayat road, approximately 18 km from Al Ansab STP and approximately 37 km from Al Amarant sludge composting plant.

The final bid closing date is expected to be announced soon.
