Experience
Mowah has achieved a prominent and leading position across our key sectors consisting of Water, Environment, Energy, Infrastructure & Social Infrastructure. Here are a few of our significant milestones:
- Mowah is the first company to participate in privatization contracts between the public and private sectors in the water segment by constructing the first and largest private water treatment plant from groundwater sources (South Riyadh Project) to meet the needs of the second industrial city in Riyadh. It is an independent water project (IWP) under “build, own and operate” (BOO) model. The company entered into a Water Purchase Agreement with a contract period of 30 years on a take-or-pay basis. The plant has a production capacity of 80,000 m3 per day, 65-kilometer transmission lines and utilizes the Reverse Osmosis technology.
- Mowah is the first company awarded a contract by the National Water Company for the re-use of treated wastewater in Al-Khumrah (south of Jeddah) in 2011. The project was awarded under a “rehabilitate, operate and transfer” (ROT) model with a 20-year contract period. The wastewater reuse treatment facility has a capacity of 50,000 m3 per day.
- Mowah developed the integrated sewage treatment plant (ISTP) project in Dammam, with a capacity of 200,000 m3 per day expandable to 350,000 m3 per day. It is the first independent sewage treatment project that has been implemented on PPP basis adopting the build – own – operate, transfer (BOOT) model.
- Mowah developed the Yanbu-4 Independent Water Project (IWP) with a production capacity of 450,000 m3 per day, utilizing the seawater Reverse Osmosis technology in build, own, operate (BOO) model. The project is the first PPP project implemented that includes a seawater desalination plant, a water transmission pipeline system, storage facilities and 10 MW solar power plant. Water special facilities will be transferred to SWCC, while the electrical special facilities will be transferred to the National grid upon reaching the commercial operation date (COD).
- The company acquired 20% share in a solar PV project with a total capacity of 150 MW in Egypt through Enara Bahrain Company Ltd. (SPV) and its subsidiaries.
- Mowah built a 6 MW solar power plant in the South Riyadh Project to provide part of the electricity needs of the water treatment plant.
- The company implemented 30+ operation and maintenance projects in the water, wastewater and environmental sectors since its foundation. These O&M contracts were managed and implemented by technical skillful and experienced working teams, thus anchoring Mowah’s leading position in the water and environmental sectors.
