Mowah through its subsidiary Nayyar Energy is implementing a 6 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in its South Riyadh Water Treatment Plant. Upon completion and operation, the project will help reduce the facility’s electricity costs by enhancing the utilization of solar-produced energy for water production. The project is currently in the construction phase and is expected to reach the Commercial Operational Date (COD) by 2nd quarter of 2023.
Mowah has signed a long-term private Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nayyar Energy for the supply of electricity for 25 years from the solar plant. The project is being developed under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) framework.
The project is financed by the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) and a local commercial bank. The engineering, procurement, and construction of the solar power plant are implemented through Mowah’s internal resources and capabilities.
